Spicy Candied Honey Bacon
This recipe can make close to a pound of bacon.
2 tablespoons hot honey (we use Wildfire Honey)
1 tablespoon Snowberry Honey or a Wildflower Honey
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (I’ve also used yellow mustard)
Cayenne Pepper to taste
Oven temps vary, don’t go too hot with this one you could burn up the bacon quickly. I’ve started on 350 and lowered to 320 towards the end. Take a cookie sheet and line it with foil. Place a wire cookie rack on top of the cookie sheet lined with foil.
Mix all the ingredients together and dip the bacon strip into the mix and take off excess by running fingers down bacon. Lay each strip of bacon of the wire rack and back for 30 minutes. Keep an eye on the bacon especially towards the end (this is where I lowered the temp a bit so as not to burn the bacon, but you want to get the bacon crisp and not chewy.) Take out of the oven and let the bacon cool. Enjoy.
